LEE TAYLOR

LET'S WORK TOGETHER

PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR

After years of training and working as a Clinical and School Psychologist in hospitals (e.g., CHEO and the Royal), clinics and schools,  I envisioned creating a therapy practice made up of skilled, and caring providers where children, teens and adults could come to feel supported and receive care that help unlock their truest potential.  That's how Sherwood Psychology came to be.

As clinical director, I review all incoming requests for therapy to help guide you or your child towards the therapist(s) that will be the best fit. I also directly supervise our team of Registered Psychotherapists and Psychometrists, meeting with each regularly  so that you receive the best possible care.

Lastly, I offer Psychoeducational (e.g., dyslexia, learning disability), ADHD, Gifted and Psychological Assessments (e.g., anxiety, depression, OCD) for children and youth to set your child up for their brightest future.

We look forward to working with you!

DR. JESSICA KURTA

LET'S WORK TOGETHER

FOUnder, Clinical Director & Psychologist

As a psychometrist, I assist Dr. Kurta with her assessments and administer standardized tests to clients.
I have worked in the field of mental health in various settings. I have experience in psychological assessments, crisis intervention, and case management. I have worked in community settings as well as private practice with children,
adolescents, and adults.

I am particularly interested in how psychometric measures are used to capture a client's clinical profile. I strive to work with my clients in a supportive way while encouraging them to do their best. I believe this to be essential in helping them get the support they need.

Education: I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology (with Honours) at Carleton University in 2015 and my graduate degree in Psychology at The New School for Social Research in New York City in 2018. During my studies, I worked on several research projects examining how societal factors influence mental health resilience in ethnic minorities.

Eryn Bonney-Brookman

Office Support Assistant

As Office Support Assistant, I help keep the clinic organized and running smoothly by supporting day-to-day administrative operations and creating a welcoming experience for our clients. I enjoy creating an organized, calm environment that allows our clinicians to focus on providing client care.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carleton University and a Master of Applied Science in Developmental Psychology. My education has strengthened my understanding of human development, learning, and mental health, and I'm pleased to contribute to the Sherwood Psychology team by helping ensure our clients have a positive experience from their first interaction with our clinic.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER

Fascinated by the power of healing through connection, I believe in the ability of people to transform when they feel truly heard and understood. Using a Person-Centered approach to therapy, combined with Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Strength-Based techniques, I strive to provide an inclusive, safe, and inviting space for clients to enter. My goal is to encourage and support clients as they navigate through their unique healing journey, and to draw upon their strengths through self-compassion and
awareness.

The first step to reach out and seek counselling can be a challenge. The anxiety and uncertainty can feel overwhelming. My aim is to walk alongside and be a genuine listening ear, through collaboration, understanding and sensitivity.

Education: Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from Roberts Wesleyan College (2007) & Masters Degree in Counselling at Yorkville University (2022).
My practice is supervised by Dr. Jessica Kurta.
